Conceria Opera
A tannery born in the heart of the Tuscan district of Santa Croce sull'Arno (Pisa).
A family business that over three decades has combined tradition and innovation, focusing on product quality and a relentless method.
The context
The major Italian and international fashion houses are increasingly demanding products with a lower environmental impact.
Conceria Opera seized this opportunity to develop a more sustainable line, but it needed a scientific tool to concretely demonstrate the benefits.
The objectives
To measure and compare the carbon footprint of the traditional line with that of the new RISHIRI® line, in order to have solid data on which to build the communication of environmental performance.
Circularity's contribution
Circularity supported the company throughout the entire Life Cycle Assessment procedure, an internationally standardized methodology for measuring the environmental impacts of products and processes.
The comparative study included:

27% reduction in CO₂eq emissions
-
Solid scientific basis to communicate the product's environmental performance
-

-
Opportunities for further process optimization
