LIC Packaging
LIC Packaging S.p.A. is an Italian company founded in 1952 in Brescia.
Born in the printing industry, it has evolved by specializing in packaging and display solutions made of paper and corrugated cardboard, covering the entire product life cycle: packaging, preservation, transport and display at points of sale.
Today it boasts 100% FSC-certified raw materials and 75% recycled material, with complete reuse of waste within the production process.
The context
LIC Packaging had already implemented virtuous practices: FSC-traceable sourcing, extensive use of recycled material, full reuse of waste.
But a structured measurement of the overall impact was missing.
Without objective, validated data, it was impossible to quantify the effectiveness of the actions taken, communicate credibly to customers, and identify the next strategic priorities to strengthen competitive positioning on sustainability.
The objectives
Measure corporate sustainability performance with the Sustainability Assessment, obtain a validated evaluation of alignment with the SDGs, and build an improvement plan with clear objectives and trackable KPIs.
Circularity's intervention
We turned existing virtuous practices into validated data and measurable strategy.
SDG MAPPING
Identified the Sustainable Development Goals relevant to paper and cardboard packaging, with a focus on circularity and supply chain traceability.
EVIDENCE COLLECTION
Documented FSC certifications, recycling rates, waste management, energy consumption and social policies through a structured questionnaire and documentary verification.
TECHNICAL VALIDATION
Transformed the self-assessment into a certifiable assessment, ensuring credibility with stakeholders.
Captured current performance across three pillars (environmental, social, economic) with industry benchmarks.
CUSTOMIZED EVOLUTION PLAN
Defined future objectives specific to LIC Packaging with KPIs for progress monitoring and an operational roadmap to consolidate competitive advantage.
The results
-
Enhancing circular assets: LIC Packaging turned its FSC certifications and recycling rates (75% recycled raw material, 100% waste reuse) into validated data that can be communicated to the market.
-
Visibility on gaps and opportunities: identified areas of excellence in the circular management of the paper/cardboard supply chain and strategic priorities for strengthening social and economic performance.
-
Commercial leverage: obtained certified data to respond to tenders and customer requests on sustainability, standing out from competitors in the packaging sector.
-
Sustainability governance: from spontaneous initiatives to a structured strategy with KPIs and an operational roadmap to monitor progress and plan future investments.
