Conceria Pasubio S.p.A. is a global leader in the production of leather for luxury automotive.
A partner to the most prestigious car manufacturers, the company combines Italian tanning tradition with technological innovation and extreme technical performance.
The context
In the high-end automotive sector, the sustainability of materials is an essential requirement.
Pasubio set out to objectively measure the level of circularity of its products and its climate footprint, using globally recognized scientific methodologies to stand out in a highly competitive market.
The objectives
Quantify the carbon footprint (ISO 14064) and measure the degree of circularity of its leathers through the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's MCI index.
Circularity's intervention
We provided Pasubio with a granular and certifiable assessment of its environmental impact:
Multidimensional Emissions Analysis: We mapped Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for the 2019-2023 period, focusing on chemical tanning processes and international logistics.
Material Circularity Indicator (MCI) Calculation: We analyzed incoming and outgoing material flows, evaluating recyclability rates and the use of regenerative resources to assign an objective score to the product's circularity.
Strategic Roadmap Definition: Based on the results, we supported the R&D team in identifying actions to improve material efficiency and reduce carbon impact.
The results
-
Circularity Validation: Objective measurement ready to be communicated to major car manufacturers (OEMs).
-
Defined Climate Strategy: A clear roadmap to guide the transition toward low-emission production.
-
Industry Leadership: Strengthening its role as an innovative and sustainable partner in the luxury automotive sector.
