The Company
Conceria Pasubio S.p.A. is a world leader in the production of leather for the luxury automotive sector.
A partner to the most prestigious car manufacturers, the company combines Italian tanning tradition with technological innovation and uncompromising technical performance.
The context
In the premium automotive sector, material sustainability and supply chain transparency are increasingly non-negotiable requirements for securing and maintaining supply relationships with major OEMs.
Pasubio is a rapidly expanding group with a global footprint and a demanding client base: responding with precision and speed to their requirements — on emissions, circularity, and climate strategy — without ever compromising on quality, is the challenge that shaped the entire project.
The objectives
To quantify the organisation's carbon footprint across all sites within the corporate perimeter in accordance with the GHG Protocol, to develop a decarbonisation strategy aligned with the Science Based Targets, and to support the company through the target submission and validation process. In parallel, to respond to client requests on specific circularity indicators, including the Material Circularity Indicator (MCI) developed by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
Circularity's intervention
Circularity supported Pasubio across three distinct workstreams:
Organisation GHG Inventory
Mapping and organising data sources across the group's various entities, drafting a complete scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG inventory for the 2023–2025 three-year period, and processing the data in granular, transparent form accessible via a dedicated dashboard. The work also included developing a structured data management procedure and an internal workflow replicable across future acquisitions.
SBTi Decarbonisation Plan
Drawing on the inventory results and the criteria of the Science Based Targets Initiative, Circularity developed a strategic decarbonisation roadmap in coordination with the group, providing hands-on support through the target submission and validation phases.
Material Circularity Indicator (MCI)
Circularity analysed incoming and outgoing material flows, assessing recyclability rates and the use of regenerative resources to assign an objective circularity score to the product in accordance with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation methodology.
The results
Pasubio has gained a competitive advantage grounded in reliable, transparent data, strengthening its positioning as an innovative and sustainable partner in the luxury automotive sector.
