Repower
Repower S.p.A. is a benchmark in the energy market for Italian SMEs.
Its offering is not limited to the supply of electricity and natural gas, but is complemented by a broad portfolio of energy efficiency solutions, electric mobility and consultancy services. Not just a supplier, but a true energy partner.
The context
With a view to staying close to its customers and actively supporting their choices, Repower felt the need to gain clarity on its own carbon footprint.
The questions we started from:
-
How are greenhouse gas emissions distributed across the value chain
-
How many depend on suppliers? And how many on customers?
-
Which areas offer the greatest scope for action? And what tools are available?
The objectives
Circularity's contribution
We developed a GHG Inventory in line with the ISO 14064-1 and GHG Protocol standards. A systematic effort to map and estimate the direct and indirect emissions attributable to the company.
The process can be compared to taking a photograph of the "Repower Italia family": the photographer chooses the most suitable lens (ISO or GHG Protocol), makes sure all the members are in focus in the foreground (inclusion of all the companies consolidated in the financial statements), and arranges the scenery elements in the background (mapping of the indirect emission categories).
The final photograph provides clear information on how significant the entity's direct emissions are compared to the emissions across the value chain.
In this way, Repower can prioritize its decarbonization efforts and exert a positive influence on its supply chain.
The results
The GHG inventory has enabled Repower to achieve a complete and structured view
The GHG inventory has enabled Repower to achieve a complete and structured view of its carbon footprint. Thanks to this analysis, the company can now guide its emission reduction strategies with solid, scientifically validated data, positively influencing the entire value chain.
The work has been published in Repower Italia's sustainability report, making the company's commitment to decarbonization transparent.
-
Precise identification of the areas with the greatest emission impact
-
Definition of action priorities based on certified data
-
Strengthened credibility as a sustainable energy partner
