Olimpias Group
Olimpias Group is one of Italy's leading groups in the textile sector, active across the entire supply chain with high-tech products and services. For years, the company has been investing in reducing its environmental impact: from eliminating harmful chemicals to energy efficiency, from renewable energy adoption to waste minimisation. A deeply rooted culture of responsibility that needed to be transformed into a structured, measurable strategy.
The context
The textile sector is among the most challenging for the sustainability transition: it generates approximately 10% of global annual emissions and produces significant volumes of waste throughout the supply chain. In a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape — with CSRD, the European taxonomy and growing stakeholder pressure — doing sustainability is no longer enough: it must be planned, reported and embedded into production processes.
Olimpias Group had already built a solid foundation of virtuous practices. The next step was to turn these initiatives into a coherent system: a verifiable ESG strategy, a credible sustainability report and a circular vision of materials across the entire value chain.
The objectives
To define a structured and measurable sustainability strategy, report ESG performance according to internationally recognised standards, and identify concrete circular economy opportunities within processes and material flows.
Circularity's approach
The project developed across three integrated workstreams:
Sustainability strategic plan
Starting from a materiality assessment conducted according to GRI Standards, Circularity supported Olimpias Group in defining strategic ESG priorities, medium-to-long-term objectives and concrete initiatives to achieve them. The plan incorporated a sustainability-focused SWOT analysis, systematising existing strengths and identifying priority areas for improvement.
Sustainability report
Circularity guided the company through the drafting of its sustainability report, structuring data collection, assessing performance across the three Environmental, Social and Governance pillars, and shaping the narrative for stakeholders. The document was developed in line with GRI Standards and the expectations of the market and institutional partners.
Circular economy strategy
On the materials management front, Circularity analysed material flows and process waste to identify circularity opportunities: from internal reuse to external valorisation, through to potential supply chain synergies. The goal was to move beyond a waste-reduction mindset towards a systemic vision of the material cycle.
