OLV (Officina Meccanica)
Since 1988, O.L.V. Officina Meccanica S.r.l. has been a technology partner for high-precision machining.
By using cutting-edge computer numerical control (CNC) machinery, the company serves complex industrial sectors, ensuring quality and technical rigor.
The context
Precision mechanics is an energy-intensive sector that relies heavily on metal materials.
OLV has decided to embark on a decarbonization journey to optimize its processes, reduce its environmental impact and respond to the demands of an industrial supply chain increasingly focused on sustainability criteria.
The objectives
To scientifically measure the carbon footprint (ISO 14064) and implement a circular management of materials to reduce waste and emissions.
Circularity's intervention
We applied a technical and scientific approach to transform the workshop into a model of sustainable efficiency:
Emissions Audit (Scope 1-2-3): We calculated the carbon footprint for the years 2019-2023, analyzing the energy consumption of the machinery and the impact of the materials sourced.
Material Flow Optimization: We analyzed the management of metal scraps and lubricating oils, identifying opportunities for recovery and industrial symbiosis to maximize the site's circularity.
Climate Roadmap Development: We developed an emissions reduction plan integrated with the company's technological investment plan.
The results
-
Operational Efficiency: Reduction of energy costs and optimization of waste management.
-
Growing ESG Rating: Competitive positioning as a reliable and responsible supplier.
-
Strategic Clarity: An operational guide for future investments with a Net Zero perspective.
